Is it just me or is everyone having a hard time with this Pirate Bay news? I'm still in denial, though I'll have some posts with alternatives soon.

I also know it's summery and sunny somewhere ... (know how?) cus the internet is in Summer mode. Yep, news and tech, fun and games - they're all hard to find now.

Funny how the net has an off season just like TV -

Well, enjoy - the lad and I are gonna get some LAN gaming in tonight I think ... cus well, there's nothing on TV ;D

One of my favorite things of all time at a fair or carnival is any darn thing on a stick. Somehow even lame food becomes cool when you put it on a thin piece of wood.

This gallery not only has the usual fair foods - but some incredibly unusual foods as well ... see below.

Did you know you can replace your own head stack or amp? You actually can - this post takes you through the motions.

If you get good enough you can start your own HD recovery business.

We barely knew 'ye - and I never liked ya.....

Remember Joost - they were initially a peer to peer video delivery service with an app I didn't approve of for so many reasons (never mind the EULA) ... that didn't fly.

Then they redesigned (just recently) into a flash site playing tons of content - and I actually liked that.

However they couldn't compete against the likes of You Tube and Hulu.

So now they fold and will focus on other projects doomed to fail - which is kinda surprising since the developers were the same guys who invented Kazaa and Skype.

There's a growing sentiment on the uselessness of password masking these days. Some are starting to think it just confuses most users.. I dunno, I'm kinda on the fence ... What I do like is the option to mask or not. This method pleases everyone.

What do you think ?

Websites should stop masking passwords as users type because it does not improve security and makes websites harder to use, according to two of the technology world's leading thinkers.

Usability expert Jakob Nielsen and security expert Bruce Schneier have both said that websites should stop blanking out passwords as users type them in. They say that the practice inconveniences users with no security benefit at all.

Got a decent graphics card? Works on all Operating Systems - (yes even Linux) ...

Polynomial is a 3D space shooter with mathematically generated fractal scenery and models. It is easy to get started - you fly around, shoot some stuff, collect some other stuff, and dodge enemy bullets, all while admiring the trippy scenery and self-repairing by flying close to stars. When you're comfortable, you can set difficulty to "Insane" (press esc) for a very fast paced gameplay.

It really does not install - just sits in a folder. So no worries there - try out the demo... and check out the screenshots!

Holy Christmas ! I never thought I'd see the day. There's a lot of confusion - double talk, conflicting statements... etc (heck, feels like I got Duke Nukemed again)

The jist of it is that they sold out for 7 million -

1 -

Software company Global Gaming Factory X (GGF) says it is in the process of acquiring The Pirate Bay and file-sharing technology company Peerialism.

2-

The company says that after it has completed the acquisition it will launch new business models so that copyright owners get paid,

3-

Peerialism has developed a new P2P distribution technology which will be used on The Pirate Bay. The technology is said to be backwards-compatible with BitTorrent although details are scarce at the moment.

Originally word was that TPB would take down the tracker - this may not be the case.

At any rate the end of an era is at hand

Apparently Ethiopia must be feeling rather upstaged by all the recent news - this just in from God...

The patriarch of the Orthodox Church of Ethiopia says he will announce to the world Friday the unveiling of the Ark of the Covenant, perhaps the world's most prized archaeological and spiritual artifact, which he says has been hidden away in a church in his country for millennia, according to the Italian news agency Adnkronos.

Ok - let all the Raiders of the lost Ark comments Commence...

Secondly I question this little statement -

According to Pauolos, the actual Ark has been kept in one church, but to defend the treasure, a copy was placed in every single church in Ethiopia.

Yet no one has even seen a copy... hmm, and hey - where was that news from France that ET was living amongst us? That's like 2 weeks late now.

Wait -no it's perfectly simple - the aliens are living in all the arks of the covenants... ;D

Slap me but this is the coolest looking plane - It's like half bat-o-rang half B2 Bomber - with perks.

I don't know if it would have made a hill of beans of difference but it sure looks hella cool.

Made primarily of wood and powered by jet engines, the plane was designed for speeds of up to 600 miles an hour (970 kilometers an hour).

Armed with four 30mm cannons and two 500-kilogram (1,100-pound) bombs, the planned production model was also meant to pack a punch.

The criminals are pushing optimised links to malicious sites into the blogosphere, accompanied with text intended to attract interest, such as 'Watch Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince online free.

Spacebar is a forward explosion - mouse controls everything else.

PC World thinks that Google voice rocks, and from what I'm hearing I would agree (tho I haven't gotten my invite yet) - about the only negative is telling everyone your new Google Centric number...

I guess if you can get over that hurdle, the service is all win.

Read up on this latest hands on if you're curious....

Chances are you've heard or read about Google's phone management system Google Voice, but you're not really sure what it does. There's a good reason for this aura of mystery. Google Voice got its start as a phone service called GrandCentral, which the search giant bought in 2007. It's been in beta ever since -- but unlike other Google betas that are open to the general public, this one was limited to former GrandCentral users and a select group of industry elite.
